Hi! Jazmin here. I'm the founder of Rancho Apapacho.

I have created this holistic and integrative wellness space where I combine different therapies in which I have been training throughout my own healing journey. The allopathic medicine system, not-so-professional professionals as well as the society in which we live have affected my health, and thanks to these therapies I now offer, I am rediscovering balance in my well-being. My purpose in life is to share them with others so that we can all enjoy a state of health that is more in harmony with ourselves, others and the environment (since I know that unfortunately I'm not the only one to whom everything that happens to me happens).

Languages: Spanish, English, French and Catalan.

And what does "apapacho" mean?

The word "apapacho" is of Nahuatl origin. It means "caress with the soul." When I visited my relatives in Mexico, they often said to me, "apapachos!" I had never heard that word before, so I asked them what it meant. I found it so beautiful, it is now my favorite word. Plus, that's just what I offer at Rancho Apapacho. I don't promise to cure anyone, but I can certainly embrace you with all my heart and soul.

My education.

In 2002 I went to NY to study acting at Lee Strasberg. I loved it, but that world wasn't for me, so in 2008 I signed up for fine arts, my other passion, at School of Visual Arts (in NY as well). In 2003 I had suffered the loss of someone very special to me to suicide and thanks to fine arts, I discovered how therapeutic art can be in healing emotions and much more. Then, one day, by chance, there was an art therapy exhibition at my school, which really resonated with me. I knew then that was one of my callings. So upon getting my bachelor's in fine arts, I went on to get my master's in art therapy also at SVA. Once I returned to Spain, due to events that have been happening to me and my horse and affecting both our health, and that no one was really able to help us properly, I began to study everything I could to recover our health. That includes: aromatherapy, natural skincare & haircare, herbalism, crystal therapy, sound therapy, coaching with horses, animal communication, natural horsemanship, womb wellness, menstrual education and facilitation of circles for girls and women.

And what is this about holistic and integrative health?

A holistic approach to health means treating the entire system rather than one part of the body. And the root is sought, not just treating the symptoms, since health is a whole, becase everything is related and everything affects everything. If you experience chronic burn out or stress, you'll have trouble sleeping, feel sad, irritated, etc, which will mess with your hormones and, in turn, your metabolism will slow down, you might gain weight and have issues with your hair, skin, and/or nails, and probably your self-esteem. You will also be more tired, your immune system will weaken making you more prone to getting sick. Furthermore, if you're not feeling well, you will also not be fine with others, and that will affect you both with your friends and with your family and/or partner. So, lifestyle habits affect health, emotional states affect health, the people you surround yourself with affect health, what you eat also affects, what you breathe, what you consume (not just food, but at a visual and auditory level as well), the environment (mold, air quality, dust, smoke, etc). In short, many things affect health. And a holistic approach treats you both on the inside, outside and around (that being mental, physical, emotional, social, spiritual and environmental health). And in an integrative way it refers to the use of two or more different therapies (I combine the therapies I've studied as most convenient according to the clients).
